IVO System Scan
A sharp diagnosis of where the system actually gets stuck. One focused session, clear patterns and a concrete overview of structural tension.
Ecosystem Analysis
A deeper look at dynamics, roles, information flows and decision structures. I map the ecosystem as a whole so it becomes clear what you are truly steering on.
Direction Papers
Short, grounded strategic papers for boards and leadership. No jargon — only clarity.
Dynamics instead of data
I don’t analyse data. I analyse dynamics.
I am not a traditional business analyst and I don’t work with spreadsheets, KPIs or heavy reports. They produce figures — but rarely truth.
My work focuses on the layer beneath the visible: the dynamics, coherence and undercurrent that determine whether an organisation actually works.
What I read
- Coherence: where the system naturally flows
- Decoherence: where tension accumulates and structure breaks
- Roles and tension fields
- Information flows and decision logic
- Behavioural patterns and hidden drivers
- The ecosystemic underlayer shaping behaviour, decisions and avoidance
Why this works
Organisations rarely fail because of numbers. They fail because of dynamics.
Behaviour, culture, role confusion, implicit agreements, invisible tension — that is what drives everything. I bring that layer into view and restore logic where it breaks.
Systems before organisations
Before working with organisations, I spent years in the technical world: lighting, sound and everything from large touring productions to small theatre shows where every signal must be coherent. Major productions by artists such as Pink Floyd, Madonna and Bowie run on hundreds of interconnected systems with zero margin for error.
In that environment I learned to read complexity quickly: tension, flow, timing and the underlying structure that determines whether a system works or collapses. Organisations operate according to the same logic.
Mental health practice as a foundation
My work as a systemic thinker and field observer is grounded in years of experience within mental health care. In FACT teams, recovery groups and community-based settings, I saw firsthand how field dynamics, tension and social coherence determine whether recovery can take place.
In 2023 I was interviewed by de Nederlandse ggz about recovery, field dynamics, social interaction and the observer’s perspective. Many of the themes I described back then have since evolved into the structural elements of the IVO model.
A lifetime of opening systems
My way of observing didn’t start in my professional life, but much earlier. As a child I took everything apart — mopeds, televisions, amplifiers, computers — simply to understand how a system was built and how each element influenced the whole. That curiosity for underlying structure has never disappeared.
I witnessed the full evolution of the digital era: from the Commodore 64 to today’s quantum and field theories. The question “what is the layer beneath this, and where does it come from?” has been a constant thread throughout my life.
That same movement now forms the basis of my work: opening systems, reading tension, isolating noise and understanding how the smallest element — technical, social or consciousness-based — shapes the behaviour of the whole. The IVO model is the concentrated form of that lifelong line.
The logic behind my work
My ecosystem analysis is built on a deeper layer of field research, consciousness structure and systemic logic. That full underlying framework lives on design-by-authenticity.org.
There you’ll find the models, foundations and experiments on coherence, field dynamics and system logic — the structural basis beneath my work in organisations.
How I detect noise
Noise in an organisation doesn’t show up in dashboards or spreadsheets. You feel it in how a system moves — or fails to move.
My work doesn’t start from data but from something faster, more honest and more precise: the body.
The body registers incoherence in fractions of a second:
- Incoherence — it says A, does B
- Hidden tension — something unspoken hangs in the room
- Role confusion — someone speaks from a role that isn’t theirs
- Incongruent language — the words and the field don’t match
- Decision logic without logic — steering without structure
This isn’t intuition. It’s system sensitivity: immediate somatic feedback on tension fields, noise and undercurrent.
My body detects noise. My head gives it language. Together they cut through years of organisational fog in minutes.
I work with organisations and initiatives operating in complexity:
- organisations in transition or under pressure
- teams stuck in recurring patterns
- leaders who want an independent systemic perspective
- new initiatives needing a clear structural foundation
Clear system architecture for organisations, teams and leaders
I make complex ecosystems logical again. By removing noise, restoring structure and bringing back coherence.
