What a licence provides
More than permission.
Depending on licence type and scope, licensed professional use may include:

- attribution and licensing guidance
- updates to licensed materials during the licence period
Specific rights and materials depend on the licence agreement.
Scope
Use rights, not ownership.
An I·V·O licence grants defined rights to use the methodology within an agreed professional, organisational or commercial scope.
Ownership of I·V·O and its underlying intellectual property is not transferred.
Training, sublicensing, redistribution and technology integration require the appropriate explicit rights and are not automatically included with every licence.
Education & research
Some uses need a different relationship.
I·V·O licensing remains subject to defined ethical, safety and use conditions.
Education & Training
Teaching or training others to use I·V·O requires separate permission or appropriate training rights.
Research
Academic and independent research can be discussed separately through research partnerships, particularly where validation, publication, datasets or methodological development are involved.
Responsible use
Not every application is eligible.
Applications involving weapon systems, mass surveillance, autonomous manipulation or systems designed to remove meaningful human responsibility may be excluded from licensing.
